Michael Rosenthal
First Vice President/Investments
7327202030
In today’s rapidly changing environment, Michael believes that, in order to truly serve clients’ interests, a financial advisor should possess the heart of a social worker and the mind of an entrepreneur. He has always been interested in the dynamics of money and the value of time – we cannot make more minutes of the day.
Michael joined Stifel in 2023, bringing nearly 30 years of experience in the investment industry. His first job was working for Ernst & Young in their Actuarial, Benefits, and Compensation consulting group. After a nine-month stint doing 401(k) plan administration for Ernst & Young in New York City (and having to commute and lose time), Michael joined Merrill Lynch in 1993 and received his securities license in 1994. After a relatively calm period, the Federal Open Market Committee raised interest rates at every meeting (sound familiar?), and you could feel the market cycles moving in a more compressed nature. During this period, it became crucial to deliver a high level of communication with clients. As this happened at the beginning of Michael’s career, it instilled in him what is of paramount importance – clients’ interests come first and foremost above all else. Fortunately, that paid off from 1995 to 1999 when many of his clients had the opportunity to grow their wealth significantly before the 2000 to 2002 period. In 2003, he accepted a position with Legg Mason in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. Shortly after the Legg Mason/Smith Barney asset swap, Michael joined Raymond James & Associates in Red Bank, New Jersey, in 2006.
The volatile environments of 2000, 2008, and 2020 provided invaluable experience in navigating uncertain market forces that are beyond our control. Michael and Deanna were able to leverage their past history with clients to help them address their financial concerns and pursue their goals.
Michael graduated from Emory University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics &Philosophy. As many believe, the markets are governed by two emotions – fear and greed. Many of his philosophy teachings have come in handy along with his economics background.
Michael has two daughters, Jolie and Mayzie, both studying occupational therapy at the University of New Hampshire and Ithaca College, respectively. He is engaged to his best friend, Jenn. In his spare time, Michael enjoys music, travel, yoga, and cooking. He is inspired to help others and make happy memories with his family and friends.
